The group exists since January 2003 at the Institute of Applied Genetics and focuses on two research areas:

1. 

Genetics and race-specifity of clubroot resistance in Brassica

Root tumor on a susceptible plant infected with Plasmodiophora brassicae Healthy root of a resistant cultivar after Plasmodiophora brassicae infection

2. 

Strategies to generate resistance to Verticillium wilt in Brassica

Stunted growth after infection with Verticillum longisporum

3. 

Identification of Sclerotinia resistant Brassica germplasm
